 Hello all
I have received a very polite inability to accept from Alan Evans but have extended the invitation again. I have not forwarded the reply as it included phone & fax numbers.

Alan states that he is a cyclist, doing so in Canberra when he has the chance when he is home.

IMPORTANT INVITATION

Alan Evans

Chairman

NRMA

Dear Alan,

This email is an invitation for you to join CAMWEST (Cycling Action Movement
West)  on one of our upcoming rides in the Parramatta District. I am the
publicity officer for CAMWEST and we are a cycling advocacy group based in the Parramatta area.We run a
series of rides throughout the year aimed at encouraging people to take up
riding as a recreational activity or for commuting.

Our next ride is a pleasant 3 hours jaunt around Parramatta visiting the heritage sites in the
area, with commentary. It commences at 0800 hours at the Tudor Gate, Parramatta Park on Sunday 20/1/08 ( next Sunday).
Takes in on road & cycleways in the Parramatta
area. Distance 20 km over 3 hrs.

I realise that this is short notice, so our next ride following is a Kids 'n'
Bikes Ride on Sunday 16 March 2008 commencing at 1pm at the Walpole St Park,
Merrylands near the kids cycling practice area. Kids of all ages are welcome as
long as they are accompanied by a cycling adult so bring along one or all of
your kids/ grandkids. The ride is on off road cyclepaths and starts with a
picnic lunch at 1pm & the ride to commence at 3pm. Distance is a leisurely
12 Ks.

If you don't own a bike, there is an excellent hire facility at Lillies in the
Park Restaurant in BiCentennial
 Park who will even
deliver your bike for a modest fee.

We promise not to bash you too much, just show you some of the simple cycling
pleasures in life & let you experience some of the difficulties faced by cyclist
when they cross paths with motorists. If, like many motorists, you haven't
ridden for a while, we are quite happy to spend some time coaching you in some
of the finer aspects of cycling.

This is a GENUINE invitation to join us. There are no tricks or ambushes
planned, nor would we publicise your attendance without your explicit
permission.

If either of these rides don't suit, feel free to contact me & I can
arrange for some of our members to join you at any time that is suitable to
you.
