Hi Ken,

You are in the same boat as Hawkesbury Cyclists as we have a Council
composed of 60% Luddites who hate cycleways and cyclists. Regarding
BNSW I was a member from 1993 to 2005 and took part in 12 of the Big
Rides. I soon become aware that there had been a change in the
administration of BNSW and the board appeared to be running what
looked like a right wing political party with inward looking policies
and the interests of the members secondary to their agenda. I opposed
their proposal to remove Push On from Australian cyclists as I want to
put my feet up at my leisure and read the contents, not sit in front
of my computer and trawl through it. Sure you can have it delivered
through the mail at a later date but by the time it arrives you have
lost interest. The members of my BUG share my concerns and have
progressively dropped out of BNSW. I noticed that BVic ran the ride
this year and next year it is in WA, don't BNSW by now have the
experience to run the Big Ride? The cost of $995 is over the top as
you then have to fly with your bike and gear to Perth at great expense
for the average worker ,unless you are on $150,000 a year.

I disclaim, therefore I am.
"What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate
supported on the back of a giant disclaimer."
"What is the disclaimer standing on?"
"But it's disclaimers all the way down!" (sorry Stephen Hawking.)
