Thats very sad to hear Rob. I had no idea he was unwell. He was certainly an active advocate for cycling with Camwest and Bicycle NSW.

> For those in the group that knew Graham Heap, he passed away on Monday
> evening after a battle with brain cancer lasting just over 12 months. He
> was aged in his early 50s.
> He took part in his first NSW Big Ride in 2001, accompanied by his then
> 14 year old son Adrian. By all accounts they became quite well known on
> that ride.
> I met him later that year, when I started doing some training rides for
> the 2002 Big Ride.
> A small group of us (aka The Chain Gang) rode regularly for a couple of
> years, including some weekend trips away to Canberra, Mudgee, Dungog &
> Denman. The participants of these weekend trips also included a few
> friends from outside of Sydney met through the Big Rides.
> Graham became involved with CAMWEST for a while, and was involved with
> the BNSW board during 2005 & 2006. He regularly took part in the Big
> Ride, Cycle Sydney/Spring Cycle, and Gong Rides. On at least a couple of
> occasions he was in the 'cyclist support team' for the Cycle
> SydneySpring Cycle.
> Up until the onset of the cancer, he regularly rode with the 'Windsor
> mob' on a Sunday morning, and eventually formed the Windsor Cyclists
> riding group.
> He's survived by his wife Jackie and children Clarinda & Adrian.
>
> There is not going to be a funeral as such (on Graham's request), but a
> Memorial service is being planned for 2pm Tuesday November the 18th.
> The exact location is still not confirmed, but is hoped to be in
> Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside. I'll forward more details when confirmed.
> A similar notice (with comments from a few others in the cycling
> community) has been placed on the Sydney Cyclist website. See
