G'day Alex, David et al,
This is something I have been on about for over ten years.  I think this article says most of what I think as well!

http://www.wealthwire.com/news/energy/2182?r=1

We need to heavily tax the use of liquid fuels and use those funds to provide fuel efficient public (mass) transport and drive the move away from private motor transport to human powered and public transport before it is too late to do so.

Currently; Tony Abbott is a Peak Oil denier but the data says otherwise.  Soon it will be declining production with escalating demand and the problems that will bring with Australia importing over 80% and growing of our liquid fuels needs.

We need to rapidly reduce our economy's dependency on liquid fuels as much as we can as soon as we can!
