Australia's Rich Cycling History
Did you know that Australia once had the largest bicycle path network in the world? or that Australian soldiers were the first significant users of the bicycle in wartime? Or that at one time, the world's richest bicycle race was held in Australia?
Jim Fitzpatrick will present on Australia's long relationship with bikes with lots of great images.
Jim is Australia's premier cycling historian and author of "Wheeling Matilda", The Bicycle and the Bush", "The Bicycle in Wartime" and "Major Taylor in Australia".

Address: 73 Pitt Street Redfern, close to Redfern Station. Limited Bike Parking - Some upstairs (via lift on right), some to rear of building (via the entrance foyer) and some at the street front.
PS: Let us know if you can spare a hand for an hour before the talk (say from 5-5:30pm) to assist with venue setup, direct guests, prep food or other little jobs. No heavy lifting and it's always a nice, relaxed vibe. Email us.
